I’m so happy the bees lead you to me. I’m not your average beekeeper. I’m a voice in the wave of bee people devoted to the preservation of the bee and pollinators in Their own sovereignty. I’m also all about how the bees can help you and how in turn, you help the bees.

I’m here because I believe in the wild, divine power of nature as both teacher and healer. For me, honey bees are one of the great enigmas and wisdom teachers of the earth and I want to help you on your own journey into beekeeping and self-discovery through bee wisdom.

Who Am I?

I came to beekeeping through some serendipity, some heartbreak, and some soul searching.  I am a bee tender, a bee enthusiast and have a fascination with the cultural and historical practices, myths and beliefs around bees and beekeeping.  Sometimes I travel too; I find honeybees wherever I go.

I have been tending hives since 2011.  I primarily use top bar hives, but have experience with Langstroth & Warré (the later pictured left).  I work closely with beekeepers and people who work with the hive on a symbolic/metaphorical level.

For the last 13 years I have been a devoted student to the bee, bee animism, womb wisdom, and history and folklore around bees and bee priestesses of Ancient Greece.  Beyond this, I have a BA in Cultural Anthropology with a focus on spirituality informed by relationship to the Earth across time and cultures.

I also studied in Galway, Ireland, where I focused on Irish archeology, as well as the history of conversion from pagan religions to Christianity.

Lastly, I am a mother, an animist, a musician, and a very good baker.

A notE about my work taking new form:

If you are familiar with my work then you will know I have also been a student of the gynocentric ways of European Bee Shamanism as it was taught by Naomi Lewis in the UK. Due to recent scandal, the history and veracity of bee shamanism is currently being investigated, and while the nature of my work is subsequently and necessarily changing, I remains committed to womb wisdom and the sacred teaching of the bee. If you want to know more about the scandal, please click here.

Know that I am committed to the integrity of my body of work, and that the ethics of this issue are paramount. As of November 2023, I am reassessing my work and future offerings, given the gravity of this news. I will continue to bring forward wisdom teachings from my direct experience working with bees and the animate earth.

What about Beekeeping?

My approach to beekeeping falls under the labels of natural and bee-centric beekeeping.  I am primarily interested in the relationship between beekeeper and bees, what we can learn from the hive as a colony and what we can offer to the bees, both in a single hive and as a species.  I assist clients in the basics of hive maintenance, learning how to care for bees, and developing a relationship to the honey bee.  My goal is to empower clients to eventually work with their honey bee colonies on their own and to use the human-nature relationship to delve deeper into their own soul.  While my style focuses on a more feminine approach than is currently practiced in the commercial beekeeping world, I happily work with clients of any gender.  And of course, most of the time, I tend my hives dressed in skirts.
